How to do barbell bench entry
Stand straight with the barbell on your shoulders. There should be a small platform or horizontal bench in front of you. This will be your starting position. Place your right foot on the bench. Climb onto the bench, transferring your body weight to your leg, exhale while lifting. As you inhale, slowly step back with your left foot, lowering to the floor. Step your right foot back to the starting position. Repeat with the right leg for the required number of repetitions, then do the exercise with the left leg. Hint: This exercise is an alternative to the straight leg deadlift for those people who can't deadlift due to lower back problems. Variations: Like lunges, this exercise can be performed alternately, either with the right or with the left foot. You can also use dumbbells. Beginners can do the exercise without a bar using only their own weight.
