SIMPLE PROCESS
Step by step recipe
The key is the breading: cut the semi-hard cheese into sticks, dip in egg, and coat with grated Adyghe cheese. Fry for just 1-2 minutes until golden and crispy — the inside stays soft and gooey. Don't over-fry!

Prep Ingredients
Cut the semi-hard cheese into ½-inch thick sticks, about 2-3 inches long. Grate Adyghe cheese finely. Beat the egg in a bowl until smooth.

Bread the Sticks
Dip each cheese stick into the beaten egg, then coat with the grated Adyghe cheese, covering all sides.

Heat the Pan
Place a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil, and let it heat up.

Fry
Place the cheese sticks in a single layer in the skillet and fry for 1-2 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

Remove Excess Oil
Transfer the cooked sticks to paper towels to absorb any extra oil.

Serve
Serve the cheese sticks hot with your favorite dip. Enjoy!
CHEF'S TIP
Cut Cheese into Even Sticks
Cut the semi-hard cheese into ½-inch thick sticks, about 2-3 inches long, for even frying.
Use Fresh Adyghe Cheese
Grate the Adyghe cheese finely — it becomes a crispy breading and adds extra cheesiness.
Fry Quickly
Cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes per side until golden. Overcooking makes the cheese inside hard instead of gooey.
Serve with a Dip
Cheese sticks go perfectly with tomato sauce, garlic aioli, or sour cream with herbs.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Add your taste
- With Mozzarella Replace semi-hard cheese with mozzarella — the sticks become even more stretchy and creamy.
- With Breadcrumbs Instead of Adyghe cheese, use breadcrumbs for a more classic crispy coating.
- Add Dried Herbs Mix dried oregano, basil, or garlic powder into the breading for extra flavor.
- Bake in the Oven For a lighter version, bake the sticks at 200°C (400°F) for 10-12 minutes until golden.
HOW TO STORE
How to Store Cheese Sticks
Best served fresh and hot. Leftovers can be cooled and stored in the fridge for up to 1 day. Reheat in the oven at 160°C (320°F) for 5-7 minutes to restore crispiness. Freezing is not recommended — texture will suffer.
