SIMPLE PROCESS
Step by step recipe
For a clear and aromatic infusion, remove only the yellow lemon zest, avoiding the bitter white pith. Gently muddle the mint leaves to release oils, but don't over-crush. The syrup adds smooth sweetness without extra carbs. Remember to allow enough time for steeping — at least a week for flavor extraction and a few more days for maturation.

Zest the Lemon
Wash and dry the lemons. Using a fine grater or peeler, remove only the yellow zest, avoiding the bitter white pith. Place the zest in a large glass jar or pitcher.

First Infusion
Pour the vodka over the zest, cover loosely, and leave at room temperature for 7 days. Shake occasionally to help extract the flavors.

Make the Syrup
After a week, combine the sweetener and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes until clear. Remove from heat and cool completely to room temperature.

Combine and Second Rest
Mix the cooled syrup with the vodka infusion and stir well. Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into clean glass bottles. Seal and leave in a dark place for another 5–7 days to mature.

Prep Mint and Lemon for Serving
Before serving, wash and dry the mint leaves, place them in a glass, and gently muddle. Add lemon juice and ice cubes.

Serve
Pour the liqueur over the mint and ice, stir. Garnish with a mint sprig and lemon slice. Serve chilled. Enjoy!
CHEF'S TIP
Zest Only the Yellow Peel
The white pith is bitter and can ruin the flavor. Use a fine grater or peeler, being careful not to dig into the bitter layer.
Prep the Mint Properly
Wash and dry the mint leaves, then gently muddle with a pestle or spoon to release essential oils — but don't turn them into a paste.
Patience is Key
Don't rush the steeping: at least 7 days for the zest and mint to infuse, then another 5–7 days for the liqueur to mature. This makes the flavor smooth and well-balanced.
Use Quality Vodka
The taste depends on the base. Choose a neutral vodka without harsh notes, so it doesn't overpower the mint and citrus.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Add your taste
- With Lime Instead of Lemon Replace lemon with lime for a more tropical, zesty version — perfect for summer parties.
- With Rum Instead of Vodka Use white rum instead of vodka for a classic mojito-inspired liqueur with a characteristic sweetness.
- With Honey Instead of Sweetener If not on a diet, substitute the sweetener with 150g of honey — the flavor becomes softer and more natural.
- Add Fresh Basil For an experimental twist, add a few basil leaves along with mint — they give a unique herbal note.
HOW TO STORE
How to Store Mojito Liqueur
Bottle the finished liqueur in glass bottles with tight stoppers. Store at room temperature in a dark place for up to 6 months. When serving, add ice, fresh mint, and lime wedges for garnish. Refrigerating may thicken it slightly, but the flavor remains intact.
