SIMPLE PROCESS
Step by step recipe
The key to this dish is a balanced marinade: soy sauce, sweetener, vinegar, and oil create the perfect harmony of flavors, while sesame adds nutty notes. Cut the chicken evenly for uniform marinating and cooking. Sear over high heat to achieve a golden crust while keeping the inside moist. Follow our steps for a restaurant-quality meal in under an hour.

Slice the Chicken
Rinse and pat dry the chicken breast, cut into 1.5-inch chunks.

Make the Marinade
In a small bowl, mix 1 tbsp soy sauce, 2-3 sweetener tablets (or 1 tsp), ½ tsp vinegar, 2 tbsp vegetable oil, and 1 tsp sesame seeds. Stir until the sweetener dissolves.

Marinate
Pour the marinade over the chicken, toss to coat evenly. Cover and leave at room temperature for 30 minutes (or refrigerate for 1-2 hours).

Heat the Pan
Place a skillet over high heat, add a little oil, and heat well.

Sear the Chicken
Arrange chicken pieces in a single layer. Sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Don't overcrowd or flip too often.

Serve
Transfer to a plate, sprinkle with extra sesame seeds or herbs. Serve with rice, noodles, or vegetables. Enjoy!
CHEF'S TIP
Cut Chicken into Even Pieces
Slice the breast into 1.5-inch chunks so they marinate and cook at the same rate.
Don't Overcook
Sear over high heat for 3-4 minutes per side until golden. Overcooking dries out the meat and makes it tough.
Use Quality Soy Sauce
Natural soy sauce without additives gives depth of flavor. Cheap versions may be overly salty.
Add Sesame at the End
Toast the sesame slightly by stirring it into the cooked chicken just before serving — preserves its crunch and aroma.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Add your taste
- Honey Instead of Sweetener Replace sweetener tablets with 1 tablespoon of honey — adds a natural caramel flavor. Slightly higher in calories.
- Garlic and Ginger Add 1 minced garlic clove and 1 tsp grated ginger to the marinade — extra zing and aroma.
- Bake in the Oven Instead of pan-frying, bake at 200°C (400°F) for 20-25 minutes in a baking dish — a lower-fat option.
- Add Vegetables Stir-fry bell pepper, onion, and carrots along with the chicken — a complete one-pan meal.
HOW TO STORE
How to Store Soy-Glazed Chicken
Cool the cooked chicken, transfer to an airtight container, and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet with a little oil or in the microwave. Freeze for longer storage — thaw and reheat in a skillet to restore texture.
