Recipe preparation
Place the oatmeal flakes in a thick-bottomed pot or saucepan. Pour in water and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 5 minutes. Add butter.
Wash the apple, peel it, and remove the core. Grate the apple coarsely and add it to the oatmeal. Mix well and sprinkle with ground walnuts on top.
