Description

The glutes are an important body part that people pay attention to when evaluating a man. Thin glutes are considered a sign of weakness, excessively full glutes – a sign of being over-pumped or a love of food. The optimal option is achieved only through regular sports training. The gluteal muscles consist of three main groups: gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus. They help the quadriceps extend and rotate the hip, and are also responsible for extending the torso from a bent position. Weak glutes hinder high results in exercises, especially in barbell squats. If it is difficult to stand up after squats, you need to pay additional attention to glute training.

The modern office lifestyle with long periods of sitting leads to atrophy of the gluteal muscles. They are constantly relaxed and rarely tense, leading to degenerative consequences, chronic loss of vigor and tone. If you start training after 30 years, you need to pump the glutes and hamstrings first, and only then – the quadriceps. The reverse order is ineffective, since the glutes are the main auxiliary muscles during squats. Beginners often make the mistake of starting barbell squats from the very first workouts, but without developing the basic muscles, performing squats at the initial stage is ineffective.

The main exercise of the program is the dumbbell deadlift. The "pyramid" method is recommended: sets are performed stepwise, gradually increasing the weight, with the last set being the heaviest. The second exercise is the leg press. The most effective variation for glutes is performing the leg press with one leg, where all the weight goes to one leg, creating maximum load. The subsequent exercises are auxiliary, their task is to isolate the results of the training. All the significant load on the glutes comes from the first two exercises, the rest is just an addition.
