Stand near a chair, grasping its back for balance. Shift your weight onto one leg, lift the other in front of you, as shown in the figure. This will be your starting position. Keep your leg straight, take it as high as possible to the side. Lower your leg back down. Perform 5-10 repetitions, increasing the leg span.
