SIMPLE PROCESS
Step by step recipe
The secret is the right order: sear the meat until golden, then add onion, pepper, mushrooms, and carrot with tomato paste. Pour in water and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes until tender. Stir occasionally and add water if needed to keep the meat moist.

Sear the Meat
Cut the pork into small pieces. Heat oil in a skillet, add the meat, and fry until golden (5-7 minutes).

Add Onion and Pepper
Slice the onion into half-rings and the pepper into strips. Add to the meat and fry for 3 minutes, stirring.

Add Mushrooms and Carrot
Slice mushrooms into halves or quarters, grate the carrot coarsely. Add to the skillet with the tomato paste and fry for 5 minutes, stirring.

Simmer
Pour in 300 ml (1.3 cups) of water, season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add water if needed.

Serve
Sprinkle with fresh chopped dill or parsley. Serve hot with your favorite side or bread. Enjoy!
CHEF'S TIP
Choose Fatty Pork
Use pork with some marbling — shoulder, neck, or belly. Lean cuts may turn out dry.
Cut Mushrooms Large
Halve or quarter the button mushrooms — they hold their texture and don't fall apart during stewing.
Add Spices for Aroma
Besides salt, add black pepper, paprika, thyme, or rosemary — they pair beautifully with pork and mushrooms.
Simmer Low and Slow
Slow simmering tenderizes the meat and helps the sauce thicken and develop deep flavors. Don't rush it.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Add your taste
- With Beef Replace pork with beef (chuck or brisket) — increase stewing time to 1.5 hours for tenderness.

- Add Potatoes Add 10.5 oz (300g) of diced potatoes with the water for a complete one-pot meal.
- With Zucchini Replace bell pepper with 8.8 oz (250g) of zucchini for extra moisture and a fresh taste.
