Recipe preparation

First, gut the fish, remove the head, tail, and fins, and cut the pike into serving-sized pieces. Rinse them thoroughly. Rub each piece with salt, pepper, and other spices to your taste. Place all the pieces in a bowl and pour over soy sauce and lemon juice. Let the fish marinate for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure the marinade is evenly distributed.

Clean and rinse the vegetables. Grate the carrot coarsely and slice the onion into half-rings. Heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan and sauté the onion and carrot until golden. Slice the potatoes thinly so they cook faster. Drizzle with a little vegetable oil, and season with salt and spices.

While preparing the vegetables, the pike will have marinated. Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and place the fish pieces inside. Cover the fish with the sautéed carrot and onion mixture. Top everything with the sliced potatoes.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for 30–40 minutes until fully cooked. Serve the fragrant baked fish on plates and enjoy its delightful taste.
