How to do barbell lateral bends

Stand up straight with the bar on your shoulders (slightly below your neck). Legs shoulder width apart. This will be your starting position. Keeping your back straight and head level, inhale as you bend your waist to the right side as low as you can. Hold this position, exhale as you return to the starting position. Tip: keep your body still by moving only at the waist. Repeat tilt to the left. Pause and return to the starting position. Complete the required number of repetitions. Caution: Be careful when doing this exercise if you have lower back problems, or refrain from doing it. Variations: You can do this exercise sitting on a bench or with dumbbells instead of a barbell.
