Recipe preparation

Peel the herring and divide into two fillets.

Finely chop onions, carrots, herbs, eggs and peppers, and cut cucumbers into very thin slices.

Dissolve gelatin in 40 ml of water, without boiling, and add it to sour cream.

Add all the chopped vegetables and herbs, as well as spices and lemon juice to taste.

Put the filling on one herring fillet and cover it with the second fillet.

Wrap the herring in plastic wrap, tie the ends and refrigerate, preferably overnight, to solidify.

In the morning we unfold, cut with a sharp knife into portioned pieces.
