Sarah Ann Hoots was born and raised in the small town of Albany, Georgia. Fitness became part of her life from childhood. As a teenager, as punishment for coming home late, her mother made her run 20 laps around the house, and later – attend spin classes at 5:30 AM. Over time, Sarah began to enjoy arriving at classes already energized and with a clear mind.

At age 18, Sarah was tall and straight like a 12-year-old boy and never felt attractive or "curvy." She started training in college but didn't know how to properly do strength fitness. She began reading Oxygen Magazine and noticed Jamie Eason's physique with feminine curves and a strong, athletic build. After changing her nutrition and training, she genuinely began to enjoy working with weights.

In the summer of 2009, following a suggestion from an acquaintance who was a mixed martial arts fighter, Sarah decided to compete. She approached an experienced bodybuilder in the gym, who assessed her shape, pointed out weak points, and helped her choose a competition.

Sarah's workouts start around noon. She lifts as heavy as possible to maintain muscle condition, as she easily loses mass. She does cardio about 3 times per week and also uses a mountain bike and boxing for fun on weekends or when she has free time.
